In December 2004, amendments were made to the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and smoking has been banned in all indoor spaces in New Zealand hospitality venues. This means people can no longer smoke inside places such as bars, gaming venues, clubs, hotel rooms, and restaurants.
At SkyCity Queenstown we comply with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and Ministry of Health Guidelines for smoking balconies.
Smoking customers are still welcome at SkyCity and we have outdoor balconies for those wishing to smoke during their visit.
